Henrik Gødsbøll Madsen
Lives and works in Copenhagen
HG Madsen’s primary practice is figurative acrylic painting. He investigates aspects of society and modern civilization by portraying specific human figures and characters from everyday life, aiming to frame what you could call a human paradox. A typical motif in his work, the tourist- figure for example, simultaneously represents the personification of “the good life” and the devastating overconsumption of Western civilization.
HG Madsen holds a master’s degree in educational anthropology and you could observe his work as a sort of visual anthropology. Parallel to his work as a painter HG Madsen has been working professionally in the field of web design and animation.
